Fostering the creation of a Ukrainian network of the Danube Civil Society Forum

Duration of the project: 11 months

The project aims to bring together Ukrainian civil society organizations active in the Ukrainian part of the Danube Region on the platform of the Danube Civil Society Forum (DCSF) to support the implementation of the Danube Strategy in Ukraine; the creation of a Ukrainian network of the DCSF; to ensure good quality expertise as an element of Ukraine’s involvement in the Danube Strategy process; to promote dialogue between CSOs and the Ukrainian authorities responsible for coordination of Ukraine’s involvement in the EUSDR implementation.

The main activities are:

  • establishing the Ukrainian Network of the Danube Civil Society Forum.
  • preparation of the progress report about Ukraine's involvement in EUSDR implementation and presentation it on the Third Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Regions.
  • guaranteeing Ukrainian independent experts' participation in the Third Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Regions and sessions of the Priority Area Coordinators.
  • Updating the web-site "Public Space for the Danube Region".

Short-term results:

  1. European Commission and countries of Danube Region are informed about Ukraine’s involvement in the EUSDR implementation.
  2. Improved awareness of Ukrainian authorities responsible for coordination of Ukraine’s involvement in the EUSDR implementation about projects and activities Ukraine participate in.
  3. Provided maximum possible participation representatives of Ukrainian civil society and independent expert environment in events in the frameworks of Danube Strategy over a period of 2014.

Long-term results:

  1. The Ukrainian network of the Danube Civil Society Forum has been established as an effective institutional instrument of the EUSDR implementation in Ukraine.
  2. Improved cooperation of civil society with the Ukrainian authorities responsible for coordination of Ukraine’s involvement in the EUSDR implementation.
  3. Improved conditions for local community's involvement in initiatives in the frameworks of Danube Strategy and realization of projects in the frameworks of Danube Strategy in Ukrainian part of Danube Region.
